"I'm 61. Two years ago, I tried to remove a giant, well-established bush in my garden with a shovel, and after digging around the root ball, I pulled it up with great force, pulling with my arms (without much leverage from my legs and core). I know I was wrong and that it wasn't the correct method, and I paid for it with a terrible frozen shoulder. I only went to four physical therapist appointments, and after seeing no improvement, I stopped. Before this incident, I could rotate my arms back and forth without any problems (I'd been doing it since I was 15 with a towel). Afterward, I couldn't even lift my right arm, forget about putting it behind my back! I couldn't believe I couldn't do this exercise anymore! After a few months, the frozen shoulder on the right then spread to the left shoulder. I continued to do stretching exercises on my own at home, occasionally but not consistently. I never took any medications, no nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, no aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or corticosteroids. Nothing. I only used a massage oil with anti-inflammatory and analgesic essential oils, herbal tinctures, and meristem therapy (plant bud extracts). This was a real change ! I immediately began to feel improvement, week after week, day after day, until... my shoulder is no longer frozen and I can now swing my arms backwards like I did when I was 15! S. - Ottawa
